Our yoga classes are designed to increase children's body awareness and practice mindfulness. Our students will develop strength and flexibility while also learning techniques to regulate emotions. As a little Yogaroo, each student will learn basic yoga practices that help in promoting balance and focus. The exercises we teach in our classes boost self-esteem and can even aid in managing anxiety.
Flexibility
Practicing yoga involves stretching of the muscles. Continued practice of stretching at a young age can lead to increased flexibility in the future.
Strength
Many poses help build basic muscle groups that are used for balancing. Holding these poses longer helps strengthen those muscles.
Hand-eye coordination
Most yoga poses we practice in class require students to be aware of where their hands are and what their body is doing in order to balance.
Balance
Our classes aid in the development or core strength which leads to an overall better balance of each individual.
Coordination
Practicing yoga motivates children to control their body and focus. This process speeds up their neuromuscular communication which leads to better coordination overall.
Motor planning
As children move their bodies to practice different poses, it creates a muscle memory that stores these patterns in their brain for future movements.
Reduces Stress and Anxiety
Yoga promotes relaxation within the body, mind and breathing. This mental and physical relaxation relieves tension and in result, reduces stress and anxiety.
Improves focus, memory and concentration
The practice of yoga requires focus and concentration while holding poses. The motor movements used throughout these poses are learnt through repetition which can help in memorization skills.
Improves mood
It is scientifically proven that yoga increases brain endorphins. These feel-good chemicals lead to a better mood.
